International Convention 2024
We also began our journey to the international meeting of the world's largest fire department motorcycle club, the so-called InterCon, on August 15, 2024.
At the beginning of the week we accompanied our sisters and brothers from the Red Knights MC Switzerland III and Switzerland I chapters through Rosenheim, including a visit to the volunteer fire department of Kolbermoor and the beautiful Franconia.
On Thursday we set off with 9 members to Leipzig to Germany XVIII to take part in the Intercon. From Wernberg we drove through the beautiful Czech Republic on Thursday with an overnight stop at the Rabenberg sports park in the Ore Mountains. We drove to various sights and cities (Marienberg, Tepla Monastery, Loket Castle, etc.) and also stopped at the nearby concentration camp memorial in Flossenbürg. Today we started over the race track at the Sachsenring and then joined the motorcycle ride at the convention. We continued on Friday evening. In the so-called “Hellraiser” all Red Knights were served delicious meat and grilled specialties. We took advantage of the great ambience until late in the evening, accompanied by various shows and fire shows, to celebrate a chatty and comradely start to the international meeting.
In addition to the big joint trip to the convention, we used the next day for part of the so-called ABC tour (visits to fire stations that have an initial letter from A to the letter Z) in order to secure the letter Q from the Querfurt fire department. We were gratefully invited by two comrades to the FF Gatterstädt fire brigade festival and were well catered for. A big thank you for this hospitality, we were very happy!
Back at the hotel, the highlight of the convention was next to the stunt shows and vehicle exhibition. The gala dinner. Traditionally for us, of course, in Lederhosen! Various honors, appointments and news about the global motorcycle club are announced here. We also remember our deceased brothers and sisters every year. After dinner, we ended the evening with lots of conversations and good company before we set off on the journey home together on Sunday.
At this point we would like to thank the brothers and sisters of Red Knights MC Germany 18 for the great convention and hospitality! It was unforgettable!
